An update (finally!)

Wow! It's been entirely too long since I've posted! I've been fairly busy this past month and as a result have been putting this to the wayside. My sister came to visit and we drove down to Italy, specifically Lake Garda and Venice. I am absolutely in love with Lake Garda. Venice, well, it was fine but very very touristy. There were so many tourists, in fact, that instead of taking in the islands and the beautiful scenery we were instead darting through the crowds to get from point A to point B. But, I will make a post or a few detailing our trip! I have a bunch of photos that really need loading too.

Hopefully I'll get to it this weekend, but this leads me to my next excuse for being a bad blogger; I started graduate school! Classes started right when my sister arrived, so I've been busy getting into the groove of school and textbooks and having to organize my time and all that.

And now for my third excuse; I have been toying with this idea for quite some time, and have decided to start a photography business! This is very exciting and intimidating for me. Once I committed to it and started gathering everything I needed to get going, I realized how much I need to do! And wow it's a lot more than I thought originally. Also, for some reason I've had it in my head that I can't start my business until everything is perfect. And, I've realized that if I follow this model I will never ever start my business. Ever. Nothing is perfect from the get go, and I just need to accept that. In some ways trying to start a business in a foreign country doesn't seem like the easiest thing, but on the other hand I'm not working a lot at the moment so this is quite perfect timing for me. So anyway I've been really busy getting everything together to start my business!

I can't wait to post my photos and blog about my trip to Italy. In case you're planning a trip to Northern Italy now, let me give you quick advice, go to Lake Garda! (Marcesine to be specific). You won't regret it!

Coming up I have some really exciting stuff as well. My husband is coming home after a long long time of being away, and then we are going to Ireland soon after! I've been dreaming about Ireland ever since we moved to Germany. I think it's been at the top of my bucket list list for some time now, so I am so happy to be going there come July. We'll be flying into Dublin then taking the train to Galway for a week. We'll be staying in this cute townhouse b&b type of place right in the center of town. Needless to say...I cannot wait!

So that's why I have been non-existent for the past month. The weather here has FINALLY warmed up. It's been the coldest summer since who knows when, so when the sun finally decided to show it's face yesterday, the country rejoiced. It went from people being mildly depressed to everyone riding bikes and being outside! Another thing I love here....everyone actually gets outside to enjoy the weather.  I see a beer garden in my near future!

I'll promise I'll post more soon! Can't wait to share my photos from my trip! Until then...
